Quarter-century marked by partnerships, certifications and a brand new look
Etratech Inc., a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced electronic controls and control systems for major multinational companies, is celebrating its 25th year in business. The company has grown and expanded successfully over the last quarter-century, but 2014 has been particularly eventful. Highlights of the year include:
- The achievement of ISO 14001, which provides a framework for the development of an environmental management system that helps Etratech mitigate the immediate and long-term environmental impact of its manufacturing processes on the environment
- A commitment to achieve ISO 13485, a standard that certifies that Etratech has established a quality management system that demonstrates its ability to meet the stringent requirements of customers in the medical equipment and device market. This will be complete by November 2014
- A strategic partnership with Summit EMS in Logansport IN, which not only extends Etratech’s footprint into the US, but also expands its capability set and allows the company to handle smaller-volume projects
- The introduction of a bold new logo and user-friendly website that better reflect the company’s focus on innovation and the engineering of products that serve to improve everyday life
Headquartered in Burlington, the company was established in 1989 and employs more than 400 people worldwide. The 46,000 square-foot headquarters facility houses complete product development, electronic engineering, automated production under one roof, along with management, sales and customer support teams.
Etratech also leases a 48,000 square-foot facility in Shenzhen PRC which operates as Etratech Asia-Pacific. This facility specializes in turnkey design for manufacturability of high-volume electronic controls and control systems for many international OEMs. In business for over 25 years, the company’s specialty is in 8- to 32-bit microcontroller-based products.
“The past 25 years have seen a gradual but important evolution of our business, from a local EMS to a global solution provider,” says CEO Michael Desnoyers. “We’re proud to have expanded our business across a broad set of industries over the years, delivering the highest quality and service to some of the world’s best known OEMs.”
