| Committed to green manufacturing and RoHS compliance Proudly RoHS compliant since early 2006 The RoHS Directive came into effect on 1 July 2006. RoHS stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". RoHS seeks to limit the environmental contamination caused by waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) during end-of-life recycling and landfill disposal by essentially eliminating the hazardous substances that can be used in their manufacture.
This Directive means new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from being placed on the EU market. The RoHS directive meant significant changes for OEMs and electronics-sector suppliers beyond lead-free soldering. Etratech's long-term commitment to greener processes began long before RoHS and continues today. From our product designs to our manufacturing processes to the operation of our entire facility, we look for ways to reduce waste and to select materials and processes with lower environmental impacts.
